Don’t Let Others Interrupt
Corporate businesses follow no-device policy. Gadgets like smartphones, iPods, music players etc. are abandoned by the companies at the workplace to enhance the work productivity. But what about the other interruptions like continuous phone calls, instant meeting notifications and other such interruptions? All these are responsible for increasing the stress level rather than reducing it to get desired outcomes. To bring down the amount of interruption, fix the meeting hours, reduce the training sessions, fix the time for checking emails etc. Organize the work comfortably to stay away from the stress.
Don’t Avoid Work Schedules
Scheduling the work in the morning helps your day to pass flawlessly. Corporate business solutions insist their employees to make the schedule setting as their first task of the day. Staying organized can reduce the stress whereas unmanaged and unplanned day can increase the stress terrifically.
Reacting negatively to some situations will make the scenario complicated. And by the time we feel it, it is already late. The stress hormones have already acted to take the situation in the worst-case scenario. It is advisable to the employees to identify the controllable factors in the work place. It might be possible that you are in control of your own behavior and tone of speech, but the dirty politics in the organization might force you to change your behavior and react negatively. Avoid getting involved in such situations or make distance with the negative co-employees.
Don’t Commit Unnecessary
Everyone has some or the other work commitments. Managers would have committed for target achievements to the higher authority and likewise employees might have committed to perform well every month, though they are necessary, they are the biggest reason that are responsible for the stress. Commitments not only affect our work life but also our personal lives. Important commitments should not be avoided, but only the ones that are not required, should be strictly removed.
Don’t Complicate your To-do List
A long to-do list for the day might leave you crazy by the end of the day. Keep it short and include the tasks that are important for day having high priority. List all the tasks of the day and sort the to-do list according to the priorities to discard the tasks having less or least priority for that particular day. Cut the task list and reduce the stress of completing all the tasks in a single day.
Don’t Avoid Work-Life Balance
To balance both your work life as well as personal life is important. Though it is a difficult task, heavy weightage of either of the takes can have the severe effects on the other. For instance if you are more involved in your work life, your personal life may get affected badly. Your near ones might get disappointed with this imbalance and that will in-turn increase stress levels. The same you manager or higher authorities might not like less-dedication in the work performance due to more involvement in the personal life. Though being a challenge, working professional need to keep both their roles apart.
Don’t Keep the Same Routine
Following the same routine for a long time may be stressful for dynamic individuals. Repetition of the same task might simmer down the productivity of an employee. Change is good for health if it is acceptable. So it is advisable to change the routine to retain the work potential. Swap the tasks like if the time of performing the task is fixed, change it and see how interesting your work place will become after that.
Don’t Avoid a Break
Take a break. Go out for lunch, go on a vacation or listen music. Do whatever helps you to relieve stress! Spare some time for yourself from the busy schedule to rejuvenate your routine, which will help to reduce the stress and charge up to work with refined efficiencies.
